Meet The Team

John E. Palmer, CLU, ChFC

Since 1989, John Palmer has served the insurance and financial needs of Mahoning Valley residents.

A lifelong resident of the Valley and Austintown Fitch High School graduate, John earned a bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University in 1987. In 1989, he began working for Prudential Insurance and was promoted to staff manager of its Alliance office from 1990 until 1992. From there, he moved back to Boardman and worked as a trainer for Prudential’s Youngstown-Warren district until 1993.

In 1993, he went to work for Cailor Fleming as an independent agent, focusing on life, property and casualty insurance. In 1999, he earned his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation from the American College.  In 2000, John decided to venture out and created his own financial agency – Palmer Insurance and Financial Services, Inc.

In 2004, John purchased the Mayflower Insurance Group and then renamed his financial agency to Mayflower Financial Services. A year later, John received his Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation from the American College.

Following the merger of Mayflower Insurance Group and Wollam Insurance Agency in 2008, Mr. Palmer renamed his financial agency to Mayflower Wollam Financial

Group.  The Mayflower Wollam Financial Group is now located in Cortland, Newton Falls, and North Jackson.

As company president, John brings a strong knowledge of both insurance and financial products to better serve his clients.
